I know some of you have seen me launching my New Way USS Element on the field and expressed admiration for the design (an homage to the 70's Estes Wayne Kelner USS Andromeda). As some of you may know, New Way (Rick Randol) lost his square body tube supplier in the last year or so. The USS Element was his last "square" release, he only made 10-15 kits, and only sold them direct. That was a frustration for folks who've seen my kit and wished they could buy one.
After losing his square tube supplier, Rick's been slowly transitioning to traditional round body tube designs. The latest release (it should be available from eRockets tomorrow) is the ROUND version of the USS Element.
The kit also features a 3D printed nose cone (see below). If you haven't built a New Way kit before, treat yourself. Not only does he use quality materials and go the extra mile in offering spare decals (in case of mishap) and sanding tools, but his detailed instructions harken back to the days when Estes was more plugged into guiding the builders with specifics. Outstanding value for the money. Deb and I are both excited to see this released... even if I already have a square version. BTW, it's 2x 18mm cluster flier.
